Anatomical Visualization Project 3

Our most recent assignment was to illustration a journal article:
Persistent left hepatic venous connection with the right atrium and the ductus venosus
with a focus on maximizing the volumetric illusion of form through light and shade.
The article can be found here.
It gave specific measurements for the diameter of certain vessels and their distances from each other. The sketch phase of this project was pretty challenging. Not many atlases show a posterior view of the heart in relation to the liver. I used osiriX to create a reference for the project.

It took a while to get used to the scissor function to remove extraneous information. I guess with practice it will become easier. This was my second attempt at using this data set. I still need to work on getting comfortable with the CLUT editor so I can take full advantage of osiriX as a reference tool.
